there. >> it is kind of gloomy. a far cry from what most of us saw during the weekend but it is fall. this is to be expected, right, gary? >> that's right. the clouds are coming in. but you know what, it looks like, will, not so fall-ish weather. >> meaning less winter and more summer? >> we will warm back up again. >> good. >> on my little sheet here it says 84 degrees. >> nice. >> but i'm not going to tell you which day that is. >> we have to wait until later. >> you guys are getting the hang of this. here is what is going on. we look at the radar and show you the stuff coming in with the clouds, a little bit of real light rain. it is fairly dry at the lower levels of the atmosphere. we are kind of right on the cusp here and i my most of the rain is getting down to the ground. again, not real heavy. not moving all that quickly and mainly moving to the east and northeast. we'll zoom in just a little bit. this isn't quite into the district yet but i suspect it will come across the beltway, most of i-95 and as you well

know, it doesn't take much in the way of rainfall to slow down the commute out there. the slightly larger picture, we put this in motion on radar to give you an idea, a small patch of rain moving through over the next hour, or hour and a half or so. again very light, movement to the east and northeast at about 15-20 miles per hour, maybe up to 25, as this comes across. but i think we'll see more of this potentially this evening. and certainly overnight tonight. again, this isn't real heavy stuff coming up from the south. but again, we do have a lot of it back down here. you see how this moisture feed just keeps coming up from the deep south. and that will be the trend over the next 24-36 hours. it looks like this will linger with us right on through the early parts of wednesday. just so you know. and then as we move into the evening hours, temperatures right now are falling down into the lower 70s. the upper 60s for some. that trend will continue,

going on, i was sent to the location in aspen hill and i remember in the days afterwards as we started to figure out these were sniper attacks, i think even us in the media out there reporting, you felt a sense of concern that maybe he would take aim at us because we were on live tv reporting the story. so it certainly had a huge impact on our region. >> no doubt, you go to a gas station and you watch people hiding behind the tanks to pump gas because that's what the targets were. >> terrifying times. mohammed was executed back in 2009. his partner lee boyd mel voe did an interview with the washington post and called himself a monster and also apologized but said there is no way to properly convey an apology to the families. take a listen. >> what am i going to tell them? i'm sorry i murdered your own child? i'm sorry i killed your husband? i'm sorry i murdered your wife? what do i tell the child who

was waiting for his father to come home and dad never showed up? >> the washington post reporter josh white interviewed lee malvo and he is joining us live via skype. thank you for joining us. >> you're welcome. >> it looks like malvo took some responsibility and apologized for his actions but what did you make of his disposition when you talked to him? >> i try to do these interviews that i don't have anything made up as i talk to anyone, but what was surprising is how well- spoken he was and how thoughtful. he is trying to take responsibility in the shooting and i think he feels quite badly about what he did. he recognized the trail of death and fear and terror that he left behind. and i think he's at a place where he wants to atone for it.

>> he is 27 years now and so certainly he's matured and we've heard about the two sides of lee boyd malvo, the cold- blooded killer and the abusive father-figure, which we know mohammed took that role. did you ask him about john mohammed and what did he say. >> he talked a lot about john mohammed and when they first met he was everything he was looking for, a father figure, a friend, someone who would treat him as an equal and rescuing him from a bad childhood. but when mohammed was trying to get them back, he snapped and changed into a different person. malvo didn't know exactly what it was, but ultimately it was he being the killer [ inaudible ] >> did he ever talk about

feeling remorse during the shooting spree itself? >> and that was one of the most difficult areas for him, i think, because he realizes that at any point he probably could have stopped it or done something about it. he talked about several times thinking about committing suicide. he talked about at one point drawing a gun on mohammed. he also at one point tried to extricate himself from the situation by leaving the car, was left on the side of the road for some period of time before mohammed came back to pick him up. he talked about there being moments in time where the real lee malvo would look through and sort of show the killer that this was all something he shouldn't be doing, but ultimately he said he could not free himself from mohammed's hold and it was several years in prison before he was able to do that. >> very revealing and interesting. thank you for skyping with us from norway. we apologize for the communication but we did our best. thank you very much. >> you're welcome.

made an arrest in connection with a violent robbery. a man left the restaurant and three men approached him and punched him in the face and falled back and drops his wallet and phone. you can see he got up and ran for help and guys got his stuff. not for long. the suspect is just a juvenile. police are still looking for two others. hopefully they will find them. >> montgomery county police believe they have tracked down a man who tried to abduct a 13- year-old from a fast food restaurant. rodney mural walked into a mcdonald's on colesville road in silver spring, grabbed a 13- year-old at the counter and tried to drag him outside. a security guard at the restaurant intervened and police say mural took off. police found him in d.c. on sunday into a little bug is causing a problem in texas. a $15 million construction project on hold indefinitely after an extremely rare spider was spotted at the construction

site. fox's casey stagel has the story. >> reporter: construction started back in april and was to be wrapped up come this summer. the area is busy on the western side of san antonio, texas, near sea world. tens of thousands of cars go through there on a daily base and the project was designed to ease the traffic tangles. but then as crews were going about their business, this little guy showed up, amid the orange cones and bulldozer, the bracken mesh weaver. scientists thought it was extinct. it is about the size of a dime, has no eyes and lives underground. and because the spider is endangered, the breaks were -- the brakes were put on this construction. >> we do still feel an obligation to the traveling public and we need to address the safety, but at the same time we are responsible stewards of the ecosystem. >> reporter: this rare spider may not seem like a big deal

but experts say it has to be studied because it could be possible it could be beneficial to humans. but those who travel texas 151 and loop 1604 every day, they are steaming mad. the project has been put on hold indefinitely and many can't understand how a tiny spider could be responsible for bringing a 15 million-dollar project to a grinding halt. >> traffic is real bad. especially taking the kids to school or picking them up or just getting from here to anywhere in town. >> reporter: the texas department of public transportation tells us the plans are being re-evaluated and federal agencies are involved, including u.s. fish and wildlife. one of the plans may be scrapping this project altogether. in dallas, casey stegall, fox news. >> time to talk weather. gary joins us. and we might need some umbrellas here in the next few days. >> we have a big baseball game

again, nothing too heavy this evening and we'll just see -- i think the better way to describe this for this evening is passing showers moving across. i don't think we see any real solid rain out there in terms of the rainfall that we're going to get at least this evening and overnight tonight. listen, here is what it looks like. we'll have showers this evening and clouds in the forecast, for tomorrow and into tomorrow night and probably lingering until early wednesday morning until we get a frontal system that will move through on wednesday and that will try to dry us out for wednesday. 71 right now in the city. the temperature down to the southwest, the temperature has dropped for culpeper and manassas as the rain shower moved on by. winchester also sitting at 63 degrees. but everybody else is holding up in the upper 60s and lower 70s. frederick still 70 degrees, baltimore 69. and annapolis in the upper 60s as well. again, this evening we are talking about through the evening hours, at least keep a chance for a passing shower

coming in on a cross. temperatures will be falling through the 60s. again, a little bit cooler where we are getting a rain shower moving across. and then it looks like overnight tonight, maybe we see a little bit of fog forming in some spots. there is definitely more rain down to the south and the southwest which is starting to move on across. again, we are just getting a little initial wave now. this is not too heavy. and again, you can just see how the passing showers begin to come our way. there is an area of low pressure down here and it is all associated with an upper- level feature with a surface- level front. so this all has to come across and that will take all night tonight, tomorrow and into tomorrow night before all of this clears through. and once this gets to the east and northeast of us, we are in for a few really nice day. most of wednesday is good. thursday and friday will be beautiful. 61 degrees for a low tonight. some of you will be down into the upper 50s. and we'll call for the passing

showers coming on across. nothing too terribly heavy. the dynamics change a little bit tomorrow. we'll make it up into the lower 70s to mid-70s for highs tomorrow. and we're going to have clouds and showers and it looks like by late morning, early afternoon, we'll have to introduce a chance for maybe one or two rumbles of thunder out there with thunderstorms coming on across. so again, it doesn't look like it will be real nice tomorrow but we are not anticipating heavy rain at all. and right on through the day tomorrow, we start off with clouds and showers for the morning commute. we'll have showers -- thunderstorm possible by lunchtime tomorrow and then temperatures back up to lower to mid-70s for highs tomorrow and again with the threat of the showers and thunderstorms. we are not talking right now about any of the thunderstorms being strong or severe. we need some sunshine tomorrow. farther to the south tomorrow, and this may include fredericksberg, fredericksberg may on the fringe of a couple of strong thunderstorms because there is a warm front in the
